Wall Replacement Work

You have probably noticed that the boundary wall along Sheridan south of 55th street has been removed.

A temporary chain-link fence has been installed in individual yards to keep pets and young children from busy roadways during construction.

Demolition on the old wall began on Friday, March 27. Weather permitting, demo should be completed by Wednesday, April 1. Construction on the new fence is planned to begin sometime during the week of April 6.

A large portion of the wall there had fallen earlier this year and after much discussion, the SNI board has voted to replace the entire portion with a new boundary option, one which we can afford at this time.

The replacement will be a 6 foot wooden fence, constructed with steel posts and cedar planks. A wood cap and rail along the top will give the fence a finished look and will help to extend the life of the wooden planks.
