Sungate 4th of July Celebration
The annual Sungate 4th of July celebration is back! Join us for a day of fun in honor of our nation’s independence.
Get the streamers out for the bike and wagon decorating contest. Judging begins at 9 a.m. in the Sungate park with ribbons awarded on the spot. The half mile children’s parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and wraps up in plenty of time before the pool opens at 10 a.m.
Parade Route
The parade route will be the same as it has been for the past several years. This map shows the parade route, starting in the Sungate park and walking West onto E 54th Street, North on 67th E Place to 53rd Place. Finishing back at the pool.
Lounge Chair Reservations
Reserve up to two (2) chairs per family membership for $5 per chair. Chairs may only be reserved in-person at the front gate.
Only a percentage of all the deck chairs will be available to reserve. The remaining chairs will be available as first come, first served. Reserved chairs will only be held until 12 pm, at which time reserved chairs will be released. Families may bring their own folding chairs.
Pool Hours
The Sungate Pool opens at 10 a.m. for a day of fun pool games, swim races and food specials. The pool closes at 5 p.m. Sungate Pool is closed on Monday, July 5 for cleaning and maintenance and also to observe Independence Day.
