60th July 4th Celebration

Sungate celebrates 60 years of 4th of July Celebrations! Join us for a fun day in honor of our nation’s independence.

We have a full schedule of pool races and games throughout the day. Enjoy delicious food specials and complimentary watermelon slices. The concession stand will be open but as always, you are welcome to bring you own food and drinks. No glass and no alcohol.

Food tickets will be available for purchased at the front gate for specialty food items (hot dogs, corn, chips and water). Remember to bring small bills to help staff make change quickly. We also take cards.

Schedule of Events

Begin lining up for the bike/wagon decorating contest at 9 am, the children’s parade will begin at 9:30.

Pool opens at 10 am with lunch items being available around 11 am. Enjoy fun swim races and pool games throughout the day.

Stick around for free watermelon slices around 3 pm. Pool closes at 5 pm so our staff and volunteers can enjoy time with their families.

Bike Decoration Contest & Parade

Help your kids decorate those bikes and wagons for the decorating contest. Lineup at 9 am in Sungate Park. The half mile children’s parade begins at 9:30 am and wraps up in plenty of time before the pool opens at 10 am.

Parade Route

The parade route hasn’t changed. The map shows the route, starting from Sungate Park (red marker) and walking West onto E 54th Street, North on 67th E Place to 53rd Place and stopping at the pool at 70th E Place (green marker).

Pool Hours

The Sungate Pool opens at 10 am for a day of fun pool games, swim races and food specials. The pool closes at 5 pm The pool will be open 1 to 8 pm on Friday, July 5.
