Trunk-or-Treat at the Sungate Halloween Block Party

Join us for a spooky time on Sunday, October 30, from 2-4 p.m. We plan to have a Trunk-or-Treat this year and we hope you’ll join in the fun.

We are looking for 12 to 15 volunteers to bring their cars, trucks, vans or SUVs to fill the Sungate parking lot for this year’s Halloween Block Party.

Cars are lined up in the parking lot – side by side depending on how many participants there are. Sometimes there are gaps in the parking spaces to allow for games to go in between or to prevent a bottleneck in the lines.

Then the kids are lined up at one end and a parade of costumed kids begin to make their way around the parking lot collecting candy from each car as they go.

Volunteers are encouraged to decorate the trunk or back end of their vehicle with a Halloween scene, spooky or fun. You may also include a quick and simple activity or game for the little ghouls and goblins who come by. For ideas on trunk or treat decorations, search online, or visit the GoodHouseKeeping article, or visit this article from Oriental Trading. Don’t forget the candy, volunteers will need to provide candy to pass out to the trick-or-treaters.
