Area Construction: 51st Street Project

The A new construction project along 51st between Sheridan and Memorial began on September 18 and is scheduled to be completed in January 2018. Crews are taking off the top layer of the road and replacing it with new asphalt. Workers are planning on getting through this project a half mile at a time.

During the project, traffic will be limited to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane. All storm sewers and 50 percent of sidewalks will be replaced as well.

All of the work will cost more than $900,000 and is being funded from the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa fund.
